Superb Victorian Burr Walnut Wellington Chest

This is a very fine Wellington chest of drawers, dating to the mid Victorian era and covered in the finest, tightest Burr Walnut. The graduated drawers all run smoothly and fitted with the original knob handles. A very usual feature is the secret lift up top compartment. On the front the 2 side bars swing out to allow the drawers to open. The quality of this piece is 2nd to none, it can be seen in the dovetails in the drawer construction, the Burr Walnut itself, even the inside of the side bars and under the top lid are Burr Walnut. These Wellingtons come in a variety of quality and sizes and this is one of the finest I have ever seen.
