Finest Quality Burr Walnut Display Cabinet C.1910

Sold
A delightful Queen Anne display or china cabinet, made from walnut with the best burr walnut, a wonderful shape being bowed at the front with concave corners. The knees having superb crisp carving from Solid Walnut and she sits on Queen Anne legs. The 2 lockable (key present) doors open to reveal a single glass shelf. A point of quality is the astragals inside the doors. The top is cross banded in walnut and has another finely carved freeze around. The cabinet has a lovely warm colour. This cabinet bears a makers name to the back of 'Bird and Raine Ltd' of Birmingham. This is truly one of the finest pieces of furniture I have seen from this period and would have been very expensive when originally retailed.
