Continental Rosewood Marquetry Sofa Table C.1860

This is a truly superb sofa table which is made from rosewood and somewhere around Switzerland or the German Alps. The marquetry is amazing and the central panel depicts a storey of a Goat Herder in the mountains. The 2 side flaps lift up and each flap has 2 supports that swing out. There is a central drawer to the front, apart from the drawer the front and back are identical so this can be free standing in a room. The base is carved from solid Rosewood and is of excellent quality. This is a very fine piece of furniture and a very usual size for the home.
